Sunworks solar has completed the installation of the solar powered fridges at both the Buderim and Coolum swimfit swimming pools. These fridges which were supplied by Pepsico are the first of their kind to be installed in Australia and are designed to reduce the carbon footprint of Pepsico and Schweppes

The chest style fridge at Coolum is powered by 2 x 120 amp hour deep cycle sealed AGM batteries charged by 2 x 135 watt solar panels mounted on the roof of the building facing north. The panels have a tilt angle of approximately 30 degrees to maximise the production of electricity during the winter months.

The tall, glass fronted fridge at Buderim is a slightly larger unit and is powered by 2 x 120 amp hour deep cycle sealed AGM batteries charged by 3 x 135 watt solar panels mounted on the roof of the building facing north
